So I posted a few blogs that were designed to invoke laughter as the best medicine in a time where laughs are hard to come by.  Now that we in South Florida, and specifically Miami-Dade and Broward Counties, enter Week Three of lockdown, the pressure cookers inside some homes are heating up beyond the boiling point.
On all accounts, incidents of domestic violence are up.  This is not surprising given that people have been ordered to remain virtually locked up with their (potential) abuser.

But there is still help available.  Even under these extreme circumstances, the Courts remain open for those seeking a restraining order.  And there are other places to seek help.
If you are living with an abuser, or you fell you or your children are about to become a victim of domestic violence, the Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach County Courthouses are open to help you file a petition and, if the legal criteria are met,  obtain a restraining order  a/k/a Injunction for Protection Against Domestic Violence.
