If You Can Marry in “Lily Pulitzer Style”, Why Can’t you Divorce that Way?

You have to love Palm Beach! The other week I received notice from the Clerk and Comptroller of Palm Beach County Courts, Sharon Bock, that the county had now opened a “Lily Pulitzer designed marriage room in the Palm Beach County Court house.” For those of you not familiar with what that means, please see the picture I’ve included-straight from the clerk. Perhaps it does not need more explanation. As they say, “a picture is worth a thousand words.” But for those interested in learning more about a woman who epitomized the socialite life in Palm Beach County in the 1950s and 1960s, you can go to this website. https://www.lillypulitzer.com/about-lilly-pulitzer/about-us.html
This got me thinking, if the Courthouse provides a tony venue for weddings, then shouldn’t they also provide an equally tony venue for a high net worth divorce, or even a simple uncontested divorce? Let’s face it, family law courts in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach County are rather sterile looking. So why not add some color and “Palm Beach” style to the divorce process no matter where the divorce occurs? And, after all, Lily did divorce she did divorce her first husband, Peter Pulitzer so it just seems appropriate.
Maybe decking out a family law courtroom in tropical print pastels exceeds the counties’ budgets. So perhaps that new Lily Pulitzer marriage room could be used for multiple purposes such as signing prenuptial agreements and, maybe also the divorce after party?
Just a thought!
